Parish Retreat

A week-end in which to stop the world and get off.

A time for quiet and reflection, punctuated by a gentle round of services and addresses.  The weekend provides a moment at the start of the New Year:
  • To take stock,
  • To think about the year ahead
  • To restore to God that priority in life that is rightfully His.

The retreat is held at St Francis’ House, an Anglican retreat house owned by the Community of the Resurrection, whose mother house is at Mirfield in Yorkshire. It's situated in the picturesque village of Hemingford Grey, Cambridgeshire.

Bring whatever you need for the activities you intend to pursue in the times of quiet; books (nothing too heavy in the spiritual sense), knitting, drawing materials etc.  If you intend going for a bracing walk on the Saturday afternoon, stout shoes, wellies, or best of all waders are strongly advised.  There's a library at the house which is open to all.
