Trudi Chandler is Running the London Marathon - Again Trudi Chandler, a member of St Margaret's Fund Raising committee, is once again running The Flora London Marathon for Kidney Research UK. Here's a message that she's sent to us.
In a moment of madness I once again put my name forward to raise money for
Kidney Research UK by taking part in the Flora London Marathon on 22 April
2007. I most definitely
wasn’t a born runner! You
may remember me from last year, along with your help I managed to raise £3,500
for Kidney Research UK. I
never expected to raise anything near that amount, and for that I am
eternally grateful. Once again I am pounding the pavements for a good cause, as you may know, my son Connor suffers from chronic kidney disease. There is no cure for kidney disease or kidney failure and he will need lifelong treatment. Connor hoping to win a trophy at Karate The
mission of Kidney Research UK is to fund life saving research into kidney
disease, to improve the quality of life of those with kidney disorders and
to increase public awareness of kidney health. It
is estimated that as many as 1 in 10 people in the UK have chronic kidney
disease – a number which is set to rise dramatically over the next
decade. It can affect any one
of us at any time in our lives. If
you would like to sponsor me you can visit my on-line sponsorship page at:
www.justgiving.com/trudichandler2 Alternatively,
give me a ring (01582) 883471 and I’ll pop round with a sponsor form! With
around 90% of people on the Organ Donor Register waiting for a kidney,
Kidney Research UK is committed to helping to improve the organ donation
rates. TRANSPLANTS
SAVE LIVES.

Any donation you make will be very much appreciated and will go
towards helping Connor and those like him. Thank
you and kind regards - see you at the finish line! Trudi
