Parish Walk - Sunday 23rd May 2010

The first of this year's Parish Walks took place on Sunday 23rd May.  Philip Wren led us from the Parish Centre (Lucas Gardens, Bramingham) to St Margaret’s Church, Streatley and back and we didn't go anywhere near the A6.  Many thanks Philip.

The weather was absolutely glorious.  Sun hats and sun screen were definitely the order of the day.  We saw lambs gambolling in the fields and met a friendly sheepdog.  We were also very pleased that Rev'd Steve Wood joined us for our pleasant amble across some of our glorious local countryside.

The walk was mostly flat without any of Roger’s infamous puffy bits and, whilst we had been warned that the route could be a little muddy at times, the ground was solid and dry.

Our next Parish Walk will take place on Sunday 18th July.  It will begin and end at the small car park at the end of Warden Hill Road (by its junction with Links Way).  We aim to set out at 2:00 pm.  The walk will be a loop around Warden and Galley hills.  The summits of these hills will not be attempted on this occasion so breathing apparatus should not be required.

The walk is about 3½ miles and we should be back to our starting point in about two hours.  Clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather is advised but ring (01582) 650 262 if the day is wet.
