Ladies Guild Christmas Party 2009

Here are some photos from the Ladies Guild Christmas Party 2009.

70 members and guest arrived at the Village Hall on 2nd December to be dined, wined and entertained by the committee. The hall was laid out with 10 tables, decorated and ready to eat. To start the evening, four members sang a cheeky sets of words to the tune of  Four Girls Bright and Beautiful (looking for a man); then came the eats, after which the second version of Four Girls Bright and Beautiful (found themselves a man) was sung.

After this, Marion played the piano for a few festive songs, while the cast of got dressed for the entertainment. Two church ladies (Mrs Upshoot and Mrs Grandeur) arguing for a while, over who should introduce the pantomime. There was much laughter when the curtains were pulled back revealing six sporting ladies dressed up to act out Mother Goose.

A short pause followed and then Father Christmas arrived.  Some sailors girls also came onto the stage to dance the 'Christmas Hornpipe' with actions and words for the audience to follow.

We ended up singing Christmas carols and giving out present to all. An exhausting time but enjoyed by all.
