FWO Envelope Scheme 2009 - 2010 The
following letter has been sent to all those who contribute weekly,
monthly, quarterly or annually, to ensure that we are able to budget for
income against expenditure for the forthcoming year.
This year we felt it appropriate to send to all Church members,
whether or not they are in a financial scheme. If
you are not a member who contributes in any of those ways or only by the
occasional Blue Envelope and you would like to be put on a more permanent
basis as per any of the above, please contact Ray or Wendy Foster on 01582
508 761 to discuss the possibilities.
The new FWO Envelopes start in November each year.
Otherwise you can set up a monthly, quarterly or annual payment by
signing one of our Direct Debit Forms, which will pass money through via
your bank.
St
Margaret’s PCC, Streatley - FWO Envelope Scheme or
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual giving by Direct Debit 2009/10 Dear Church Member,
Please
forgive and bear with me whilst I use the analogy of St Margaret’s
Church, Streatley being like a ship at sea. We
are just dropping off our Captain and First Mate who, after nearly a
lifetime at sea on this ship, will take a well-earned retirement.
The rest of the officers and crew may have a stormy time ahead as
we - yes, all of us - set sail into uncharted waters.
We don’t want to leave anyone else behind: we don’t want to
lose anyone overboard; and we are willing to pick up survivors we come
across on our voyage. However,
every member of the crew, whether senior or junior, old or young has their
role to play as we set our course.
Luckily, via radar, other ships have us in sight, and their
captains will keep a steady eye on our course and lend a helping hand.
(Even the top brass will monitor and come aboard to advise us.)
But it is up to members to maintain their dedication to our ship
and its company, as we do not want to become ‘becalmed’ and make no
progress.
We do need to be vigilant so that we can all pull our weight on the
mainsail to keep a steady course through rough waters. In
other words, we need to maintain our attendance, our commitments, and our
contributions to see us through the interregnum in the hope of welcoming
another Priest to take up the ‘Captaincy’ of our ship in the future.
Thank you for all you have contributed during the past year, and we
trust you will continue to do likewise in the next. If
you have any problems, concerns, or want to have any further information,
please feel free to contact me or either of the Church Wardens who will be
in charge. Yours
sincerely Raymond
