Lent Appeal 2009

This Lent we're supporting two charities:

  • Hospice at Home Volunteers, a confidential voluntary service offering extra care to sufferers of life limiting illnesses and support to their carers.

  • The Luton and Dunstable Hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Appeal to improve facilities for babies who depend on the care and treatment of these units each year.

Editor's Note.

At the end of our fundraising activities, we were able to send £500 to both of these charities.  This amount will be increased once we have received the tax from Gift Aids.  Many thanks to everyone for their generous support.

Here's a message from Elaine Foster, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Hospice at Home Volunteers Luton.

"Our AGM will be held on April 28th 2009 in the function room at Neville Funeral Services on Sundon Park Road and we would be honoured to welcome any members of the Streatley Church Group who would like to attend.

I would also like to take this opportunity, on behalf of HHV Luton, to offer our most sincere thanks and gratitude to the members who have so gallantly contributed to raising funds for our charity.  It is donations such as this that allows us the opportunity to continue our work supporting those living with life limiting illness in our local community and for that we really are eternally grateful.  Their efforts are truly recognised and wholeheartedly saluted.   Thank you."

Editor's Note

The Pancake Party on 21st February raised over £750 which will be divided between these two charities.  The CARE Committee would like to thank everyone who supported them.
